"For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Yahweh of hosts... But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings." — Malachi 4:1-2

The Great Cosmic Crucible

Just as the earth was cleansed with water in the days of Noah (Foundation 2), Scripture reveals that the final cleansing of the earth will be by Spirit and Fire.

This divine fire is not the annihilation of matter into nothingness; it is the ultimate, purifying crucible of God:

• Greek Word Stoicheia (Elements): Refers to the rudimentary principles, corrupt cosmic powers, and works of sin that have defiled creation.
• The fire melts away every trace of the curse, disease, demonic strongholds, and human rebellion.
• The earth is renewed and refurbished, just as gold is refined in a furnace seven times (Psalm 12:6).

The Final Rebellion Crushed

At the close of the 1,000-year Millennial reign:

• Satan is loosed from his prison for a short season to test the nations born during the Millennium.
• The final rebellion gathers against the camp of the saints and the beloved city Jerusalem.
• Fire comes down from God out of heaven and devours them (Revelation 20:7–9).
• Satan, the Beast, and the False Prophet are cast forever into the Lake of Fire.

The Great White Throne Judgment

Every person who did not participate in the First Resurrection will stand before the Great White Throne:

• The books are opened, and the Book of Life is opened.
• Every thought, word, and deed is judged according to God's righteous Law.
• Death and the grave (Hades) are cast into the lake of fire. Death itself is destroyed forever! (1 Corinthians 15:26).
