The Second Coming: Messiah Returns to Restore the Kingdom on Earth
"When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power." — Acts 1:6-7
"And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east... and Yahweh my God shall come, and all the saints with thee." — Zechariah 14:4-5
"And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever." — Revelation 11:15
The Unanswered Question of the Apostles
The very last question the disciples asked the resurrected Jesus before His ascension into heaven was: "Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" (Acts 1:6).
Notice what Jesus did not say: He did not say, "You foolish men, there is no physical kingdom on earth; it is all in heaven." Instead, He confirmed the reality of the restoration, stating only that the Father had set the timing!
Two angels then appeared and gave this ironclad promise:
"This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:11)
The Fall Feasts: God's End-Time Calendar
Just as Messiah literally fulfilled the Spring Feasts in His First Coming, He will literally fulfill the Fall Feasts of Yahweh in His Second Coming:
- Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah): The blowing of the Great Shofar, the bodily resurrection of the dead in Christ, and the regathering of the elect (1 Thess 4:16; 1 Cor 15:52; Matt 24:31).
- Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur): The Day of Judgment, when Messiah treads the winepress of wrath, rescues Jerusalem, and binds Satan for 1,000 years (Zech 12:10; Rev 19–20).
- Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot): The 1,000-year Millennial reign of Christ upon the earth, tabernacling with His people in Jerusalem (Zech 14:16–19; Rev 20:4–6).
What the Millennial Reign Looks Like
During Christ's 1,000-year reign upon the earth:
- Yeshua will sit upon the literal Throne of David in Jerusalem (Luke 1:32; Isaiah 2:2–4).
- The resurrected saints will reign as kings and priests over the nations (Revelation 5:10; 20:6).
- The Torah will go forth from Zion, and all nations will come to Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles (Micah 4:1–3; Zechariah 14:16).
- True world peace will prevail: swords beaten into plowshares, and the curse on nature partially lifted.
What Foundation 9 Unlocks:
- The literal fulfillment of the Feast of Trumpets at the 7th Trumpet of Revelation.
- Why the popular concept of an "any-moment secret rapture" contradicts the biblical order of the resurrection.
- How the saints prepare to reign with King Jesus on the earth.
