Scripture

Genesis 10-11

Trace the birth of man's counterfeit religious and political empire from the Tower of Babel to modern times, and hear God's call to come out of Babylon.

The Rise of Babylon: The Origin of the False Worship System

"And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth... And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar." — Genesis 10:8, 10
"Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." — Genesis 11:4
"Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen... Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." — Revelation 18:2, 4

Two Cities, Two Kingdoms, One War

From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible records the epic clash between two rival cities and systems:

  • The City of God: Jerusalem / Zion — centered on Yahweh's covenant, truth, holiness, and the Kingdom of Messiah.
  • The City of Man: Babylon — centered on human pride, rebellion, counterfeit religion, and global empire.

Understanding the Rise of Babylon in Genesis 10–11 is the essential key to understanding the Book of Revelation!

Nimrod and the Tower of Babel

Following the Flood, mankind rebelled against God's commandment to scatter and fill the earth. Under the leadership of Nimrod—the first tyrannical world ruler:

  • Humanity unified around a one-world political, economic, and religious headquarters at Babel.
  • They built a ziggurat tower reaching toward heaven to establish astrology, idolatry, and self-deification.
  • God judged their rebellion by confusing their languages, scattering them into 70 distinct nations.

How Mystery Babylon Infiltrated the Modern Church

When the nations were scattered, they carried the seeds of the Babylonian mystery religion into every culture on earth: the worship of the sun-god, mother-and-child deities, and human-made holy days.

Tragically, during the Roman era, these very Babylonian pagan customs were rebranded with "Christian" names:

  • Substituting man-made Sunday for Yahweh's eternal 7th-day Sabbath.
  • Substituting pagan solstice and fertility rites (Easter, Christmas) for the Biblical Feasts of the Lord (Passover, Tabernacles).
  • Replacing the commandments of God with human tradition (Mark 7:9).

God issues an urgent, loving command to His people in these last days: "Come out of her, My people!"
